— In the wake of Land Day I am thinking about the long-term effects of the havoc we wreak on the earth.
I designed these posters using text from the 1993 report from Sandia National Laboratories. A team was commissioned to concoct warning messages for nuclear waste that would remain useful and legible for as long as the waste is radiactive--about 10,000 years. All languages spoken 10,000 years ago are extinct. In the long future, our current empires will have fallen. Collectively, we fight for a say in what meaning might persist.
*Profits from sale of these posters will be donated to on-the-ground food distribution efforts in Gaza via Gaza Mutual Aid Collective. Receipts upon request.
