CHUCK COMER

— My work is attempted Contact. I work floating between moments of impulse, personal expression and intuition. Figures come and go like causal haunts referencing everything from geography, to celestial bodies, to single celled organisms and bacteria. I incorporate a mixture of dream symbolism, mythos and abstract thought. Through acrylic and mixed-media collage, I try and capture these glimpses of the minds eye and sensations of the unknown. My work is abstract expressionism with surrealist linguistics...or maybe it's the other way around? I like those set of parameters. It gives me freedom and certain drawing restraints that push the work further into unknown allegory. Currently I'm expressing memory as energy and the Body as a vessel storage, of latent and unseen potentials. The Ectoplasm.
