MADHURI SHUKLA

— I work primarily with paint and paper. My pieces are pretty evenly split between self-portraits to process internal chaos and visuals to support folks organzing to improve public life (migrant rights, detention conditions, anti-imperialist organizing, etc). My process is impulsive, emotional, and often uses animal allegories. My background in urban studies tends to come through as I focus on how daily life experiences are embedded in larger social and spatial systems.
